35mm Slide Scanning Service - Slides to High-Resolution Digital Files

A photographic slide is a small positive image on transparent film, usually held in a cardboard or plastic mount. Most family slide collections are 35mm and may be stored in boxes, sleeves or projector carousels.

Unlike a negative, a slide shows the scene in its normal colors when held to light. Its mount may carry a date, frame number or handwritten caption. Carousels and numbered boxes can preserve a family's intended viewing order, so keep them together. The size of the mount does not always reveal the film size inside; unusual mounts or larger transparencies should be identified before ordering.

Slides are counted individually, including those in carousels. Ask us about other slide sizes before ordering.

Free digital delivery is included. Your originals are returned. Physical drives are optional.

How do I count slides in trays or carousels?

Count the slides actually present, rather than the number of slots the tray can hold. Keep trays and labeled groups in their existing order. If you are estimating, tell us which counts are approximate.

The options above apply to standard 35mm slides. Contact us about medium-format, large-format or unusual mounts before ordering them as 35mm. Mention any tray labels or handwritten mount captions that matter to your family so we can discuss how to preserve that information.
